A new micro-practice

We are small by design to ensure individualized, intimate care. Bodily autonomy and pleasure are basic human rights. Sexual and hormonal wellness should be a non-negotiable, integrated part of all aspects of healthcare throughout the lifespan–from primary care and gynecology, to oncology, psychiatry, gerontology and beyond.

The mainstream medical system has devalued and deemphasized the importance of sexual/hormonal health. Research focused on sex and hormones is not equal across the gender spectrum and these areas (for the most part) are not included in medical training. It’s time to shift the collective consciousness.

Let’s work together to figure out what is important to you. We incorporate methods and treatments that are safe, evidence-guided, scientifically sound and effective.

How it works

  • 15 minute complimentary consult call if desired

  • 90 minute intake appointment to explore symptoms and concerns and identify your priorities.

  • 30 minute follow up visits to guide progress.

  • Labs to determine hormone status and shape treatment.

  • Prescriptions from your pharmacy or precision compounded formulas delivered to your door.

  • Counseling, resources, tools and referrals depending on your goals and needs.

Services

  • Sexual dysfunction is unacceptably common and can be addressed. We take a comprehensive and holistic approach to sexual healthcare. Treatments can include medications, hormones, tools, education and resources.

    Issues we address include:

    • Sexual elevation

    • Decreased libido

    • Blunted arousal response

    • Post hormonal birth control issues

    • Medication related sexual issues

    • Pain with sex

    • Orgasmic issues

    • Communication and relational issues

  • Just as puberty physically and mentally transitions a person from childhood to adulthood, the menopause transition takes us officially to middle-adulthood. In a culture where youth is currency, it can be difficult to accept the significant changes in our body and mind. At the same time, menopause can be powerfully positive. It’s a time to take stock and  re-evaluate. Are we were we want to be in the second half of life? With the wisdom of life experience, maybe we take more risks, speak or mind and discover new sources of confidence.

Hormones are not a “fountain of youth” but there are plenty of health-protecting effects. Estrogen and progesterone in the form that your ovaries make naturally (not synthetic compounds found in birth control pills) can ease brain fog, support bone density and sleep, and limit bothersome symptoms like night sweats. Additionally, it has powerful anti-inflammatory benefits and helps to maintain cardio-vascular health. And while there are plenty of good reasons to start hormone therapy, it’s not for everyone. We don’t have a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • The shift from the fertile years to perimenopause and menopause cause significant changes to ovarian function leading to big hormone swings. The menstrual cycle changes. Night sweats and sleep disturbance begin. Irritability and mood changes are common.

Hormonal support can help “smooth the edges”. It’s not necessary to wait for menopause to start HRT.

  • Testosterone is not a “male” hormone. All human bodies make more testosterone than estrogen.

MANY things can affect your testosterone levels including common medications, genetics and age. Testosterone levels peak in your early 20s.

Testosterone supplementation provides many benefits including increased energy, bone density and muscle mass, mood and cognition, and of course, libido.
